Thoughts on our itinerary

We have booked for 2 weeks LHR - MIA 14-28 December.

Our plans are
1 night Key Largo on arrival,
3 nights in the Keys
4/5 nights Naples/Cape Coral
5/6 nights in Anna Maria Island - so we are there over Xmas day.

We have an 11pm flight home so we dont have to worry too much about the drive from AMI to MIA.

There are just the 2 of us and we dont mind sharing the driving - in fact we argue over who's turn it is

We have done AMI before on a couple of occasions but never any further south!

Any hints, tips or suggestions welcome

Hi

We are visiting this area in May so looking forward to any comments.
I can share our trip after May if that is helpful?
We already have booked 3 nights in Miami, 1 night in fort Lauderdale and 1 night in Key Largo. We then plan to head into the keys then up the coast to Clearwater stopping at various places such as I.M, Naples Marco Island etc
Hope you have a great trip.

Ohhh - yes please - share away

Your trip sounds pretty good too but having done multi-centre stops I really dont like them but for to do they keys and the coast its really a necessity isn't it

xx

Sounds great we love the keys, personally I think you are spending 4/5 days to long in AMI as it's now an overrated tourist trap (it was a real undiscovered beauty 10 years ago but no more)

Otherwise I'd say you've picked a great itinerary

We've only known AMI in recent years so really have nothing to compare it to.

We'd like a couple more days further south but it much more ££

That's true one of the hotels we stayed in between Xmas and New year's this year was $979 per night plus tax. Thankfully i used reward points for it. It was really nice but not a grand a night nice...

In the summer the same place is under $400 a night usually

Like your itinerary and just thought I'd let you know of a reasonable hotel that we used. We stayed at the Best Western Inn & Suites in Naples, which is a lovely hotel in really nice grounds- 2 pools and really quirky sculptures around the gardens. It's not in the centre of Naples (it's about a 10 minute drive away) but has a free shuttle service to the beach and has he zoo and a shopping mall (with a Cheesecake Factory) nearby. Really nic hotel f you're on a budget.
