Monthly

£120 - fuel
£30 ish - insurance (I’m old!)
£140 a year tax.

We won’t discuss hubby’s 5L V8 mustang! I just see a potential extra holiday when I think of what that costs us to run (plus the necessary 3rd car for dogs / tip runs etc. as it’s so impractical) but he deserves it & it’s mostly covered by his car allowance from work

What a nice wife you are to say your hubby deserves his mustang. Some wifes don't appreciate their husband. I emptied the dishwasher yesterday and my wife still hasn't thanked me.

Not just emptying it, but finding it in the first place

Erm... my Ford Focus (1.6t)
I walk to work, but still use about £30-£50 fuel a month galavanting!
Then insurance without my sister is £400 a year, plus £150 road tax and another £350 for the service and MOT each year (plus this year I need need rear brake pads! So that’s another £200)
If I were to do the tax and insurance monthly I’d say maybe £125 a month without other stuff - which unfortunately at 7 years old it’s starting to need! Hoping to hang on to it another 3-5 years yet as I want to save for Florida in 2021 before a new car 😂

Nothing.
The appreciation on my car has pretty much covered my costs.

£310 per month for my Golf GTE on a 15k per year lease for 2 years. I work on a car costing me £7500 over two years, I like a new car every few years (I get bored) so I’d expect a £30k car to lose that and more over two years.

£290 to insure.

I forecast on my two year leases a car is going to cost me a service and a set of tyres. It’s a hybrid so petrol can be £50-£100 month as I charge it for free at work.

I bought a 4 year old 911 four years ago. It was never used in the wet with 4000 miles when I bought it. Now worth very significantly more than I paid for it.
Has easily paid for maintenance, a set of tyres, tax and insurance. I didn't buy it as an investment, but it is just what has happened.
I bought a 4S. Wished I had bought the GTS I viewed at the same time as their values have just gone nuts.
I got lucky and bought the right car at the right time. And get to drive my dream car every day for free.

Makes up for the huge mistake I made around 18 years ago where I chose a new BMW instead of a 6 year old 911 at the same price. The BMW depreciated to nearly zero. If I has bought the 911, it would be worth three times what I paid.
