I'm really looking forward to ASS as we loved Maters Junkyard Jamboree, rode that thing 3 times back in May and would have been more if the queues weren't so long.

Is that in HS Studios too or one of the other parks? I've read through books, descriptions of the rides etc a lot over the last few months and have never seen it mentioned. Thanks.

Edit - just realised you mean Disneyland, not Walt Disney World.

Yeah its over in California, but its the exact same ride system as the Alien Swirling Saucers.

Ooooohhhh! Alien you enjoyed it? I'm so pleased to hear it. I so want TSL to evoke a little of the toy story magic.

Good to hear!

BTW, are there any restrictions or queues to get into Toy Story Land itself? Or can you come and go freely?

Can't believe there aren't that many shaded areas - like many, I can't believe that seems to have escaped Disney's notice. They really have to sort this ASAP!

We will be doing SDD next time but I'm not that bothered about the ASS. It is always a little disappointing when Disney take a long time to do something, and only do two rides... It's the same with Pandora but obviously FOP is worth its weight in gold - I'm not quite as excited about SDD. But hey, I am excited to see it for the theming alone!

Regarding the lack of shade... ultimately, this is a filler land. I don't see the rides sustaining long wait times - only 90 minutes for Slinky within the first few days is quite a short queue. It will probably settle down to Storybook Circus like crowds.

But it's all down to money. They cut TSL's budget massively to invest in other areas and sad to say, it really shows. There are some quite ugly sight lines and the entry is nondescript. I will visit it next trip and give it a fair chance to wow me in person but it could, and should, have been so much more. I don't need to see it in person to be disappointed in that fact.
