only two of us going this year and still having a villa- love to have lots of space, own pool etc - just works better that way for us over a hotel

I can see pros & cons for both. For us, we like the feeling of someone having tidied up & made our beds after a busy day in the parks

I'm the opposite! I hate feeling like I need to tidy up before we leave the room in a hotel. I would rather not have the beds made than have to worry about making sure there was nothing left on the bed etc. Maybe it's because I used to clean hotel rooms when I was a student. I didn't mind the actual cleaning but really hated having to move people's dirty clothes etc off the bed. Probably the same reason I've never wanted a cleaner at home even when I was commuting and working 45 hour weeks!

We always stayed in hotels when went abroad, after the first time in a villa over 20 years ago, we have never done anything else. TBH if we went to Europe for a holiday, I would now also stay in a villa, I like the space and privacy and like to chill out without people being around me all the time.

I enjoy the luxury that comes with a hotel rather than moving from one house to another. We stayed in a villa for our last trip and it was disastrous, the kids hated everything but the pool and struggled to sleep as they didn't feel safe. We've tried it and it's not for us

Villa or condo for us even when not staying in our own home. I can do an hotel for 2 or 3 nights but tend to feel hemmed in after that. Even then we tend to go for a room with settee or small suite. We like internal corridors but also find it can be more difficult to find one that also has balconies. Love the convienence of popping in and out to the pool without having to pack a bag to do it.

We have had a villa twice now, we stayed onsite for one night but was a nightmare 5 of us in 1 room, wouldn't want to do that again!

Villa every time...I'm the only female so being stuck in 1 room with two teenage boys is a none starter...the boys like to have their own space to chill out in...I like my cuppa by the pool in the morning and my glass of wine there in the evening while Me DH & the boys play cards listening to the critters.
