The Hi fly review on the lgw to mco route on FB is excellent. I'm glad I didn't pay extra to change flights now.

The service was really good and the crew very smart , whilst I'd have preferred a proper Norwegian Dreamliner and their own crew , the entertainment aside it was a good flight especially considering it was full.
It was a bit surreal, I felt like I was in a time warp, non scruffy flight attendants who didnt gossip to each other or hide out in the galley (or glower at passengers when they dared to go to the galley) and were incredibly vigilant every time someone tried to turn on electronics. The loo was spotless throughout the flight too.
For me that would be great, a nice book, attentive crew, and away from phone, iPad etc..
Could there be a market for retro flights? I’d book one if the price was right.
Glad the flight was good for you ( in a different way)

Is 17.9 years of age, BA 777 average age is 16.8 years old, but, they do have 58 of them 😁

Yes 16 of the BA planes are younger than the 16.8 years but 42 of them are older than the Privilegestyle 777 17.9 years.
So you are roughly twice as likely to get an older one.
Yes stats can be read many ways

And if we want to get super picky both BA and Virgin put their older craft on the bucket and spade routes

Oh yes it wasn't horrible , just boring as there was literally nothing to do . With a heads up I'd have had a couple of books and wouldn't have minded.

Yes and no! BA are in the midst of revamoing their 777 fleet, starting with those based at Gatwick for the bucket and spade routes.

Oh and our first disney trip was in 1994 on a BA747. A few months later they introduced a brand new long haul fleet at Gatwick, the 777's, and they've been there ever since.

Exactly ... so their oldest planes if they are still there in 2019 ... a refit (I'm guessing that is what you mean by revamoing ) or revamp is still an old plane.

Pretty good review, maybe I was a little quick off the mark ………. especially as Expedia are now quoting 12 weeks for my flipping refund
