The Tunnel is via the freeway and sweeps a long route around the back of the strip. For example a cab to the Wynn costs about $17( including tip) and despite telling the taxi " NO tunnel" he took the tunnel and the fare on the meter said $26. Of course he only got $17 and a threat that I would report him to his cab office. Longhauling is a serious offence is Vegas ( one of the most heavily regulated taxi systems bar New York) and the cabbie could get into serious trouble !

Taxi for us too, thanks to some very good advice on this section, I was going to book a limo too but then was told about distance etc etc so have decided to just get a cab and spend that extra money on something better!

the airport taxis are well regulated and have to play by the book, we paid less than $20 and we were way up the strip in the stratosphere.
if you need a taxi back or anywhere else, get the hotel cab marshall to call one as he told us, some firms load thier charges gor non us citizens.
don't be afraid to use the deuce bus up and down the strip, its cheap and easy and has some great veiws of the strip from the top deck.
