Alamo..pay on arrival...online check in?

Hi, travelling in 2 weeks time. We chose alamo brits, pay on arrival.
Can we do on line check in for this or do we have to go to the desk? Is it also an option to now pay the price we booked at online? ( didn't have the funds available at time of vooking, but got a good price, hence why we chose pay on arrival)

you can't pay now.
alternately you can check the rates on different sites (give Andy a try for example), and if equal or lower, rebook with pay now (usually you get a discount by prepaying) and cancel the previous one

you can do online check in, but not sure if you can then go direct to the garage, but I don't see why you couldn't as long as you have a bar code (if the alamo location offers skip the counter, because if it doesn't you need to go to the desk no matter what)

the only issue might be if you only have a debit card and not a credit card (in the name of the lead driver, of course)
the total amount of the rental will be held on your credit card and only be processed when you return the car, so make sure your limits are ok

Pay now rates are hundreds higher than the rate we got for pay on arrival so will stick with it.
That's great that we can skip the line. Will do that tonight.

Yes you can go straight to garage with pay on arrival have done it several times

I can't see why you shouldn't be able to check-in online now and print your straight to garage voucher, as I did this in March with HappyToursUSA.

When you exit the garage they'll take your card details and put a hold for the amount you're due to pay, this will then drop off at some point during your vacation (mine did after the first week) then when you return the card they'll print your receipt and your card will then be charged.. full payment was taken within 3 days of returning to the UK.
