It very much depends on the exchange rate and also don't forget that you need to add on the 7% sales tax that you will be charged. Have a quick look on Best Buy site or Walmart site to get a rough idea of the cost.

generally, yes, but its worth checking prices, as if you pay full price (rather than some sort of sale price at walmart or somewhere) then the savings arent that great. back when it was $1.40-$1.50 to the pound the saving was in the region of £50 for the base model... but the more you upgrade it, the bigger the discount (eg getting the 128gb model instead of the 16gb base one)

at ~$1.25 though, i'm not sure the savings will be that great. but i've not looked at ipads in 5 years...

*edit*
remember that US prices are subject to sales tax of around 6.5% on top of the quoted price (depending on where you are exactly)

*edit2*

walmart/ip/Apple-iPa...Gray/876555631
Apple iPad (Latest Model) 32GB Wi-Fi - Space Gray
$249.00 (List $329.99) so $265.19 after sales tax = £212.15 at 1.25 exchange rate
if it was full price ($329), youre looking at ~£280 so only £15 cheaper - i'd buy it it in the uk so you get a PSU with a uk plug on it if the savings are that poor

vs
amazon/iPad-6th-Ge...teway& sr=8-1
£294.97

so £82 cheaper if its on offer like it is right now at walmart! (or ~£15 if it is full price)

Also check the Apple website for refurb units (immaculate and same warranty) as they can be even cheaper and free Apple store pickup

Bought my iPad in 2014 at the Apple shop in the Florida Mall. Paid UK Sterling equivalent in US dollars 😀

Costco in US sell iPads, although it is not the full range. Usually around the same price as BestBuy and Walmart offer prices.

They also sell them in their UK stores as well now, but not huge savings or full range again. However, Costco after sales is probably one of the best if not the best you will find in the UK.

OK if you are a member, just do not forget to take your UK membership card.
