Universal hotel annual pass

When you book a universal hotel and apply the annual pass discount does this need to done when booking or paying at the hotel

The reason I ask is we have suspended annual pass which are valid from the first time of arrival for 6 months

Therefore I was hoping it would be on arrival/departure that the discounts on the accom was given

Anyone had experience of this

You can apply the AP rate retrospectively or book it before the pass is valid, as long as you have the pass active when you check in.

We often book our room with AP rates before we've bought the pass.

You need to secure the AP rate as soon as you see it available and you are happy with it. Then the actual AP can be shown at check in if requested.

How far in advance does the accom become available at ap rates and how does it compare with the likes of going via trivago

It's available around 2 to 3 months in advance. You'd have to check on the day what other rates are around but it's not always the best rate out there.
