Not for Florida but I am due to go to NYC with my mum for her 60th on 18th September. I still feel relatively optimistic. My partner keeps saying he honestly feels we will be able to travel to the US before Europe given the vaccination progress.

I think we will experience a few more highs and lows over the next few months with news of 3rd waves, vaccine delays etc, the newspapers need to print something after all and they know how much everyone wants to get away at the moment - if they don't sensationalise the news people don't buy it, they are very good at making a mountain out of a molehill!

I do think its inevitable we will have more increases and dips in cases over the next few months and with this will come more doom and gloom stories mixed with the odd "we've reached this milestone", BUT when I look how far we have come over the last 12 months and how quickly we are heading in the right direction, I strongly believe it will be September and maybe a little sooner that travel will be permitted for holidays with the caveat of all travellers needing a negative Covid test before they fly.

We don't go until November so I wish with all my heart you all get to go (especially as that increases my chances too )

Posted on Forbes from CNBC:

According to CNBC, two sources in the administration have reported that President Biden is “looking toward the middle of May” to revoke several of these bans. Namely, to relax restrictions on the land border with Mexico and Canada, and to allow inbound international travel from the U.K., Europe and Brazil.

Well, I've booked with BA for 25 September and I'm still pretty confident. Stop worrying and look forward to your trip.

I'm sure the USA will be a 'green' country. With Europe it will depend - a 'wait and see' policy will apply.

My reckoning is that BJ will shortly extend the ban on travel abroad from 17 May to 21 June, and then there will be a 'traffic light' system, with red countries banned, amber ones accessible but with restrictions, and green countries open without restrictions.

I think the news breaking now about a US UK travel corridor for June or thereabouts is the best news we could have hoped for. So uplifting in many ways.

Can't sleep now waiting on further clarifications on 5th/12th April from the travel taskforce and of course further news from the US.

I think we've firmly moved from "2021 is a write off" to a multitude of possibilities. They may not come to anything but I'm so hopeful now.
