PB has a great chilled atmosphere. Walking distance to Universal studios is probably the same as RPR. Obviously a big difference to IOA.

The standard rooms are the biggest (RPR 335 sqft, HRH 375 sqft, PB 450 sqft).

PB is my favourite of the 3 but I’d happily stay at any of them. I’m looking for a couple of nights in November and my pick would be based on what comes out with the annual pass discount.

Thanks all.

I was interested to learn that PB has 3 pools. When I've been searching it up the one main rectangular pool came up.

Think it might have to be Portofino Bay for us next year (fingers crossed!)

Main pool is this one. Not my picture from touring plans

I have always stayed at royal Pacific it’s my favourite of the 3deluxe hotels at universal, it’s a lovely resort with amazing rooms and in a great location close to islands of adventure and city walk, however for my sept trip I have 4 nights at portofino as the AP rate was very good and cheaper than royal Pacific

There are indeed 3 pools, something for everyone!

The main feature pool (as per photo above) which is like the main pool at RPR (but has a slide) with games and music and plenty going on.
Also a large rectangle pool (which was always really quiet and nice for reading a book when we were there) and another smaller pool which is for adults only for even more peace and quiet.

RPR is a fantastic hotel but PBH is better. We didn't considered staying there for quite a few years as love RPR and Hard Rock, plus thought it might be a bit 'formal'. Having stayed there once we all feel it is the best hotel at Universal.

That pool looks lovely!

I'm erring towards Portofino now. I always find it difficult to change my habits, especially when they've been good ones!

It is the only one we have done so far. I’m sure RPR is lovely but the theming is just not to our taste, and Hard Rock is just not us.

Next time we are douing Sapphire Falls - it is £300 cheaper for a 2 night stay, and you get the boats as well as being able to walk.

I know we won’t get FOTL but we are going in January so probably won’t need it. I don’t do many rides anyway!

Portofino is probably my fave hotel in Orlando including all the Disney deluxes.

It is lovely, smells amazing, rooms comfortable, beautiful hidden areas, lovely pool and something that hasn't been mentioned which is really important to me at a pool - the loungers are very padded.

Food options - great
Starbucks on site
Beautiful boat ride in at night

I've stayed at RPR and thought that was really good but it lacked atmosphere compared to PB.

I absolutely love Portofino. Gorgeous rooms and just a lovely ambience about it. The staff in the club lounge are amazing too and can't do enough to help. They really made our stay so special.
