Special/unique experiences in WDW to surprise parents with?

Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've been on the Dibb, mainly because being here when we don't have a trip booked makes me sad. But we are booked to go in February 2022 🤞

Basically, my question is what your suggestions are for extra-special things you can do in WDW.

We are finally getting married in September after many covid postponements, and my parents are helping us a lot with the wedding. We are going to Disney with them in Feb, and we want to organise something special as a surprise for them to say thank you for helping us with the wedding. Our budget for the surprise is $1000/£700ish.

- We considered upgrading to a night's stay at a deluxe resort for the last night of the trip, but decided that it wouldn't be great value for money, as we wouldn't really get my much time there. (Have you ever done a different hotel for one night in the middle of your trip and if so is it a massive faff?)
- We considered the evening Animal Kingdom savannah tour but it's only 2 hours and doesn't feel special enough.
- Doing one of the walking tours probably wouldn't be up my mum's alley (pardon the pun).

Excited to hear your ideas! For context we are staying at Pop Century for 2 weeks.

Thankyou so much! Xxx

Have you considered hiring one of the private boats to watch the fireworks from Seven Seas Lagoon? Perhaps with a nice meal before/after.

Another idea could be to book a meal at Victoria & Alberts, very expensive but very special.

One of our most memorable days was when we hired a pontoon boat on bay lake, then had brunch at the grand floridian cafe and a fireworks dessert party that evening. It was a very relaxing but fun filled day!

This is a great idea, if you're really pushing the boat out The Grand One is $850 for an hours firework cruise and it really is a special experience.

Another vote for a fireworks cruise, here, either MK or Epcot. We did it several years back and it was amazing. There are snacks and soft drinks included, but I’m sure Disney would help make it extra special if you spoke with them. Have search on YouTube for Tim Tacker Fireworks Cruise and it will give you an idea of what it’s like. You can also have gifts and flowers delivered to their room with Disney gifts. Xx

Victoria and Albert is absolutely lovely, very expensive, but you are in there for 3 hours.

We did it in 2013 and I think it came to 600 dollars inc tip, but I think it’s gone up a lot since then.

Edit: just looked it up and it’s 250$ With the wine pairing (185$ without), so still similar price, I’d say that would be nice, if they like going out for posh dinners obviously.

You have to book well in advance because the space in the restaurant is limited.

After looking into this more, I think this website is wrong and it is now 235$ without the wine pairing (another 150 with), so quite a bit dearer.

Just a quick comment on the fireworks cruises - hopefully you won’t have the same experience we did but we did it for a one and only time in December one year, it was bitterly cold and I am going to say not at all enjoyable despite being wrapped up in blankets we had borrowed from our room. It is possible it may be quite cold after dark in February (not necessarily but possible).
