Anyone book flight only with last minute for August.
If it gets cancelled do you just get your refund or is it not that simple.

Apart from taking your cash in the first place nothing is ever simple with last-minute.

They have a Vile record of delaying refunds and looking for any and every reason to deny them.

They were one of the big offenders in the travel refund saga of covid last year

My daughter had to get her money back through her credit card last year and even then last minute challenged it. They are a despicable company and do anything they can not to refund you. Look at trustpilot reviews. I hope you manage to get your refund

We had great difficulty getting a refund from them for our cancelled April 2020 trip.

I'm in the same situation. You can't actually contact them by phone unless your flight is imminent enough! Also on their contact page there is a section where you enter your booking reference. I thought it was for a contact form. You enter your booking ID and they reference you to the same phone number!

It's not clear on their site if they get notified automatically by the company cancelling the flights and if they start the ball rolling. There is a page referring to covid cancellations but not clear IMO.

Let me know how you get on and I'll do the same.

Edit

Thanks for the link cartoonp.

This is the specific link re covid cancellations.

lastminute/en/info/c...roduct=flights

And this refers to the specific refund process but as I said above not clear if they start the ball rolling.

I booked with Lastminute unfortunately without knowing all this, however after a bit of Googling have found this:

gov.uk/government/news/l...anding-refunds

Hopefully it means that refunds will be obtained a little easier now?

Avoid at all costs. I got my refund for cancelled August 2020 flights (which were cancelled in May 2020) last month so a full year. They then took an amount for their ‘booking fees’. Couldn’t be bothered arguing as was just happy to get £2k+ back!
