Anyone had a garage door replaced lately?

I wondered if anyone has had this done recently?

Just had a quote for a metal ribbed design (white) for ;

Vertical rib - £797 + Vat

Horizontal rib - £711 + Vat

The question is Vertical or horizontal rib?

I’m content with prices - do they sound reasonable ?

We have a White horizontal rib. Stuff collects in the ribbing - never looks clean. Would go for vertical if we had the choice again.

That’s a valid point - currently have a horizontal one

I always recommend Hormann doors. Good gear.

I went for a Hormann (just under 3m) sectional door. Went for the upgraded faster motor (glad I did) and had it sprayed the same colour as our new front door. Hormann will do this if you supply the RAL number.
I looked at many manufacturers and wouldn't buy anything else. Being an attached garage, and I play with cars - I wanted the best I could get. Good insulation and properly sealed.
BUT they are a bit more expensive.

One big thing to watch if the door gets a lot of sun - the internal insulation can break down if you go for a very dark colour.
