I have salmonella

came back from cyprus last Thursday been ill for 3 days whilst there tummy upset etc ... came home went to docs took a sample and results back today I have salmonella don't have to inform the food environment as it was caught abroad ... but still feel lethargic tummy pains etc docs said that's normally just let it go out of your system naturally ..just wondered has anyone had it and how long did they feel Ill

I feel for you. I managed to get it in Romania. I t took me about three weeks to get over it. As we ate out in several places I have no real idea where I picked it up but suspect it could have been the pizza with the egg in the center!

Big assumption the OP caught it in their hotel unless they never ate anything elsewhere.

Lots of fluids, clear soup and dry toast if you can face it ,as you say just got to let the toxins work there way out. Get well soon.

I got this after a 3 week holiday to New York/Canada it took me about 3 weeks but also not helped by getting a DVT through my own fault as I didn't get up and move about as it was so painful the Dr ended up giving me a course of meds but cannot remember what these were.
