Shopping in Nassau
Hi,
We head off in a few days for our Disney Holiday. We have a 3 night Bahamas Cruise also. Just wondering in way of shops, I only plan to do a short visit to Nassau off the ship, must do is the Pirate Museum (I love Pirates) and then I'm wondering on the more cheaper options towards the shopping. I'm not interested in designer shops, just looking at the usual cheaper end gifts, like lighters, ashtray, or things of that ilk. Is there a decent place to go for stuff like that? Preferably near the Pirate Museum? TIA FD

You won't find many designer shops in downtown Nassau. Plenty of souvenir places, cigar factories, cheap booze and the straw market (hats, baskets, mats etc.)
You'll enjoy the Pirate museum - it's quite good. Second time we went to Nassau we stayed on board ship as we'd done it and weren't over impressed. |

Plenty of jewellery bargains to be had if you're into haggling.

I've done it twice now. First time (2011) was a lot more shops than this time (2017). Jewellers seemed better 1st time too. But other than that it's the typical souvenir shops. Defo worth a visit, but doesn't take that long & means more time to spend on the ship- which has to be a bonus
