Where would you stay in Miami

We are staying in Miami for 2 nights before we go on a cruise. Where would you base yourself - South Beach or elsewhere? We are a family with a 13 and 16 year old.

It depends what you like. We stayed in the beach area but in hindsight wished we’d stayed in the harbour area. We spent a day on the beach then did a speedboat tour (Groupon) and a slow boat tour which we didn’t enjoy as much - both from the harbour. If you’re beach people stay in the beach area - we stayed at the Pestana which is further up but was lovely. If we went back we’d stay in the harbour /market area

We tend to stay in Biscayne Bay prior to cruising and use the metro mover to visit other places but there's plenty to do near the port for a couple of days.

it was a bit further away from ocean drive than we thought, but would happily stay there again (theres a bus stop nearby that takes you there if you dont want to drive that takes around 20 mins)

The Tides on Ocean Drive, is lovely we had 2 nights her when we did Keys

Hi, we've flown into Miami many times and have cruised from there a couple of times.
We found early on that we didn't really like Miami apart from driving up the iconic Ocean Drive (which was great! We've done it during the day and also at night to get the feel of the night time vibe!) and so these days tend to shoot up the coast a little way to Fort Lauderdale. It's not far If you don't find anywhere in Miami you fancy, it's worth a thought

Our fave place to stay is Lago Mar Beach resort as this is right on the sands itself, we have kind of a tradition now, stay there the first night and on the morning when you wake super early stroll out onto the deserted white sand beach with a coffee in hand and sit and watch the sun rise up from the ocean!
It is stunningly beautiful!

We have stayed at Lago Mar before and really loved it but we fancied trying to stay in Miami this time.

We also stayed at The Pestana nr South Beach and my teenagers loved the whole Ocean Drive area.

We just booked the Marseilles Hotel in South beach
Seems to be walking distance to lot of things. Good price on hotels .com at the min.
All.hotels.seems.to have additional resort fee of.anything From 20 to 50 dollars a day plus parking 30 to 45 a day in addition to price
