Me and my family went out together!

Me and my family haven't been out together since Christmas so being a wonderful guy I surprised them today with an afternoon tea at Stoke Poges country club which is a bit too posh for some of the dibb old girls. I am not overly keen on afternoon teas but it was nice and I would recommend it. It did seem a bit weird being out together after so long and wearing masks (apart from at the table).

Stoke poges country club has been in a few films including Bridget Jones diary where she spends the weekend with Daniel (also the scene on the lake - there was a young lady from Ealing etc), James Bond (Goldfinger and Tomorrow never dies) and coincidentally Daniel Craig's film layer cake (and other films).

So if you fancy a nice afternoon tea I would definitely recommend it:

I go to the tennis there every year (sadly not this year) and stay for a couple of nights. Surprised they let you in, was it an OAP’s special?

Keith, The golf course does look beautiful and I bet it's not cheap to play there.

Colette, I didn't know you played tennis and they don't usually let riff raff in so you did well disguising yourself😀. I felt hot enough walking past the outside tennis courts with people playing in 33 degree heat!

Definitely a lovely place and very friendly staff who weren't pompous at all with it being 5 star.

It’s not lucky enough it was a company trying to get business off me that paid. My games not good enough to warrant pay to play this course over the years I’ve played most of the top 10 courses in the UK. And stoke park is in my opinion top 5 prettiest. Was the afternoon tea good I might book it for the wife and me

I doubt they even do the 50% off and if they did I would have to go on my own as my family are working.

I don’t play! I go to watch the tournament they have there each June. I don’t do anything more energetic than lift a glass to my mouth (continuously)
