art glue advice question
Ok, this is an odd question possible for the Dibb, but I know a lot of you are artistic so could hopefully help me.
I am looking for a glue that I can use to stick small stones/pebbles to a canvas so it needs to be strong enough to hold them when the canvas is mounted on a wall but also it needs to cover over the pebbles and dry clear to give a clear gel like texture over the pebbles to look like a thin coating to look like water if that makes sense. I have seen this elsewhere and want to copy the idea but don't know what glue was used. also, this glue was also used to paint on a picture frame glass on a photo of a beach scene to create a 3d effect to accentuate the breaking waves etc and glitter was added to give the effect some bling. it was so effective. I went into hobbycraft to ask what glues they recommend but they didn't know what glue to recommend that would do this. I thought I would ask you guys to see if you could help? thanks in advance.

Glossy accents is good, pinflair would hold them on, but couldn't be used to give the glossy finish - although a combination of both - pinflair to stick 'em on and glossy accents to cover - would work.
Another option would be Mod Podge, which comes in a variety of finishes, and is a cross between PVA and varnish, often used for decoupage projects. /Mo |

I thought about midge-lodge. It's worth searching for it on Pinterest, people make amazing things
Edited: sorry that should read Modge Podge, my spell checker obviously doesn't do any crafting ! Edited at 02:59 PM. |

Although its a fabric hardner - Powertex is the best glue I am using at the moment - it sticks anything to anything

Another vote here for Glossy Accents from Ranger. It's a 3d glue, so it'll give you the cover you want on your stones and pebbles. Just don't do what have done this afternoon and test it with your finger to see if it's dry. Lovely imprint of my fingerprint!
