When I was a child my nan used to make spam pie, just chopped spam with puff pastry on top. We used to love it with baked beans and mash.

Another fan of corned beef and mustard here.

My mum used to make a corned beef to make a variation of hash... sliced potatoes and onions with chopped corned beef cooked in beef or oxtail soup... cheap, easy and tasty... it was my favourite meal when I was growing up...

Corned beef and piccalilli sandwich is a staple in the Omega household. MH, thanks for starting a thread of significant importance - anything to move on from the blessed H&M thread. I know more about corned beef sandwiches than I do about H&M - as all of us do!

That is how corned beef should be made although nowadays brisket isn't always cheap.

What we buy in packets and tins could be processed from any cut. Good deli corned beef can be tasty but if you have the time make your own and see the difference in taste.
