Evening safari

Hi All,

I'd like to do the Kilimanjaro Safari in the evening, just to change things up a bit!
Planning an evening visit to AK on the 24th April and have booked it for 8.30pm. Is this a good time, or will it already be too dark to see anything?

I've just googled what time sunset is on that day and it will be around 8pm so probably not ideal to do the safari after sunset.

I've done it and it was brilliant - there are some lights - it's a lovely different experience. Also, Pandora is so much better in the dark.

Thank you for your replies... I've changed my FP+ from 8.30pm to 7.55pm, as sunset is supposedly at 7.46pm!
So, lets hope the animals are in playful evening mood!

7:58pm. The sunset times are on theDIBB park hours.

We did th safari last week at around 7.30/8 and it was fine. Quite a few of the animals were moving and about, although the hippos were hiding a little and the lions were quiet too. But a nice experience all the same

We did it after ROL last year, an easy walk on and quite different to the daytime safari, where the heat can affect the animals' energy levels.
Worth doing IMO

Cant wait to see Pandora at night and ride Everest in the dark!
