Canaries in January
We've been mulling over taking DD in wheelchair to the Canaries for a couple of weeks in Jan to get me out of the cold weather. Previously we've been to Lanzarote which we liked very much but our accommodation on each occasion had swimming pools
which weren't heated. It's hard to keep DD amused if she can't swim and because she is very stiff and has poor circulation she can only swim in a heated pool. Has anyone been to any of the Islands around that time of the year and had a heated pool. It would have to be self-catering and not too noisy but other than that we're quite open to suggestions. Thanks, Carol |

We have been to Gran Canaria in January and the pools were supposed to be heated but they were very cold still! Fine if you plunged in and kept going but not good for just lazing in. Don't know if there is anywhere that can guarantee a certain pool heat?

I went to Lanzarote one Christmas... the pool water was absolutely freezing until the sun got to it... which was about 11am they started to become bearable Don't know of any heated pools. Also although the days were scorchers the nights were very crisp and cold.

One of the places we stayed had an "acclimatised" pool but it was still freezing. Not too worried about the weather, just trying to find somewhere she could swim every day. We're hoping to take her to Orlando again in March so wouldn't be able to afford a private villa in Jan so have to find an Aparthotel or apartments unless anyone else can suggest another spot for almost guaranteed sun at a reasonable price!

We have the same problem with DS. We went in October last year to Tenerife and the hotel we stayed at had an indoor heated pool which was roasting, also the jacuzzi was very warm. It was the Costa Adeje Palace.

Not sure how much you are looking to pay but h10 melenoras palace has indoor pool which would be heated. One of there outdoor pools was also heated when we went in March.
