I know there are a few on here, but how many people not affected know about them?

I'm at the tail end of my wait.

I've had the auspicious letter and my first payment (just over two weeks) is in May. The full payment comes out in June and is more than I was expecting.

I had a letter years ago to say that the retiring age was being deferred to sixty-two and a quarter in my case.

The shock when I reached that point to realize they had further deferred it until I was sixty-five and a quarter without telling me!

QC Michael Mansfield goes to Court against the Dept of Works and Pensions I think next month. He did very well in the first round, the Judge threw all the DWP's arguments out. They went ill-prepared because they thought it was going to be a walk in the Park.

I think the same Judge is sitting in May. I can't wait for the outcome.

I’m not affected and wouldn’t really know about it (I had to google the term Waspi) but it affects MIL - worked all her life, single parent teacher, and has to wait, unlike her sister, who hasn’t worked. MIL is not happy!

And that shows the unfairness of the acceleration of the pension age, Cuxi , I’m guessing you’re a mere 3 months older than me, and I have to wait till I’m 65 and 8 months...

Is Michael Mansfield still holding the brief for the next round in Court?

Mmm, really wouldn't want to be up against him. Awesome Guy.

Best of luck to you Ladies as the whole Pension scenario is a mess and it needs a root and branch review.

I expected to receive my pension at 63 (and had received confirmation of this) and took early retirement/voluntary redundancy based on that fact although I would have to wait a few years. This was then changed to 65.5 a few months after my retirement with no notice. It makes my blood boil that they have treated us in this way and have appeared to have got away with it.

The Tories and LibDems should hang their heads in shame.

Edit: I should add I think it is only fair that women and men should be treated equally and that it had to change but the timescales were out of order.

I'm a WASPI woman too. Ecpecting my pension at 60 (4 years ago) and have to wait until March 2020. Luckily my mum persuaded me to take out a private pension so not on the breadline like some women. Disgusted the governments across all parties agreed to do this without consulting the women involved.

I was 60 on Monday. I didn’t have a problem with the pension age being increased to harmonise with men. What I do have a problem with is the way it was done, with little or no notice, and the way this Government and its hired hands have lied and lied again. They would do anything to shut us up. Good luck with that. 😁
