We went to BG last year when DS was 7. Cheetah Hunt was down, but he and I rode Gwazi (RIP) and everything else he was tall enough for (I think he was 51"). We had a blast!

In fact, BG was a huge hit for all of us - and turned out to be DH's favourite park (and he DOES NOT do coasters). We ended up squeezing in a second morning there to finish up the exhibits/shows we missed on day one.

The animal exhibits are really good (DS got to pet a snake) and I LOVED "Opening Night Critters". It is a lovely park just to stroll and enjoy, as it tends not to be so HEAVING with people.

HOWEVER, I love the beach - I couldn't book a FL holiday without a few days on Sanibel. That is without question DS's favourite part of the trip, too.

I've been no help at all, I fear!

We love Busch Gardens but also love the Gulf beach they are gorgeous white sand and pale blue warm water. Not sure if are thinking of the Cocoa Beach area beaches (closest to Orlando) they are on the Atlantic side so not as tropical as the gulf side. Highly recommend any of the gulf side beaches for a day trip although we do tend to stay overnight when visiting.

Busch Gardens every time

I love it there! Their coasters are brilliant and I find it quite a chilled out park so never rush round when I'm there!

Beach!

The Drive to Clearwater is fab - Especially driving over the bridges to get on the keys.

It doesnt take long and it totally worth it! Beaches are white sand - lovely.

Went to Cocoa Beach last visit - and really enjoyed it there too. That was a bit nearer.

I was worrying as lots of people had made negative comments - but we had a fab time!

We're hoping to do both as we can't decide either. We are thinking about an early start to drive down to Caspersen Beach for shark tooth fossils, then coming back to Clearwater for the dolphin boat ride.

We don't know where to stop overnight. Not sure whether to stop near the beach at Clearwater or head back towards Tampa and stop closer to BG so we can do rope drop the following day. Any comments gratefully received.

Sorry I haven't helped the OP but we couldn't decide either
