Is it possible to do Both Universals in one day?

Hey all

I was wondering if anyone had experienced doing both Universal Parks in a day?

In 2011 we bought a 14 day pass and visited each park just once.

In 2013 we bought a 2 day pass - so went to each different park two consecutive days in a row.

Next year I am planning on tagging an extra day on the end of the holiday and maybe stay in one of the universal hotels? Would it be advisable to buy a one day hopper ticket or go for a two day hopper? I am thinking one day due to the cost?

Has anyone managed both parks in one day? We are going end of May, beginning of June...

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated

I did it on my first trip (we went Jan/Feb), but that was before Harry Potter. I would say depends on your must dos and what time of year you are going. It's tiring though.

yes - but we don't do big coasters! It's doable, but without an express pass, something has to give...so a bit of a plan with rides you can skip, should be ok. The problem is if a ride is down... so we prefer rot do over two days, and park hop (Hogwarts Express helps!)

If Ur staying in a universal hotel for 1 night then you get 2 days folp, seems a shame then to cram it all into 1 day, difference in price isn't that much

We did it in 09 and it was fine. Also did it this trip 3wks ago with potter and again was fine. We did have early entry as stayed at cabana bay the night before. Did gringorts 1 hr before close n it was a walk on. Did iOS potter stuff in the early he entry then straight to universal on opening for gringorts again and was 15 min wAit. Did rest of universal then walked back over to iOS to do rest of that park. Was done by 4pm so if hadn't done Ioa potter stuff early on we would still have fitted it in... I doubt that would work peak times tho.

If you go at the end of you holiday then the crowds will be less as the last week in May is very busy due to Memorial Weekend and the first week of June is Disney Pride which also spills over into the Universal Parks.

It does depend on how many rides you intend going on but with the new HP section in Universal and the train I think you will struggle doing it all in one day, even with front of line passes

I did this this year, on 11 April (Saturday after Easter). I had a one day park-to-park ticket with Unlimited Express (bought from Universal website) - was on my own so this was a lot cheaper than staying for a night at a Universal hotel.

I did almost everything I wanted to do. This is what I did from 8am to 10pm that day:
- Gringotts
- Butterbeer ice cream from Florian Fortescue (no queue at 8.30am!)
- Hogwarts Express
- Forbidden Journey
- Flight of the Hippogriff
- Dragon challenge red
- Dragon challenge blue
- Hogwarts Express
- Revenge of the Mummy
- Rip Ride Rockit x2
- Lunch at Mythos
- Trolley in the Sky
- Cat in the Hat
- Incredible Hulk x2
- Dr Doom's freefall
- Spiderman
- Got a frozen Butterbeer
- Superstar Parade
- Twister
- Simpsons
- Men in black x2
- Wandering around Diagon Alley - went in all the shops, saw Celestina Warbeck
- Ollivanders wand show
- Gringotts single rider
- Despicable Me
- Dinner of gumbo and beignets (Mardi Gras)
- Mardi Gras parade
- Transformers
- Disaster (waste of time as got evacuated)
- Hogwarts Express
- Forbidden Journey x2 (got to re-ride as there was no one in the queue)
- Quick stop in a couple of shops in Hogsmeade

The only things I feel I might have missed out on were:
- Wet rides - this was a conscious decision as I was headed to MK after universal (until 3am) and really didn't want to get wet at all.
- Jurassic Park - kept thinking I'd head back to it but never got around to.
- Some of the shows?
