August 2018 Wishing on a Star: Day 15 MK and After Desserts Party

We were up at 7 and managed a little bit of packing before heading to MK for 8:30. We watched the opening castle show before being escorted by CMs to BTM. We were on the 3rd train.

Pirates was next and the seat was soaked hence when we exited the ride it looked like we'd both had a little accident. It shouldn't take too long for my wet bum dry though.

Our 1st FP opened for 7DMT and we followed this with a very early lunch at Cosmic Rays. I had a hotdog and J had the stretchy burger, we made excellent use of the toppings bar and siracha mayo.

We wandered around on Main St and I bought a personalised nail file and pen at Arribas brothers. In need of refreshments we ordered a Starbucks, J had a vanilla cold brew and I had very berry refresher. As we drank our drinks we watched the castle and then headed for Buzz to use a FP. Apologies as my notes are very sparse from here.

Philharmagic was next followed by another Buzz FP with a 3rd booked in the queue. It was mid afternoon at this point, so we decided to share a lobster roll at Columbia Harbour House. The re we encountered world's angriest man who was shouting at everyone, guests, CMs, his kids, his wife you name it. It was dreadful; he should be ashamed. It was something to do with the free water and I think eventually there was a whisper about security and he stopped. It's a shame how fraught some people get. The lobster roll was delicious though and I'd definitely recommend them.

We headed on Buzz again both achieving 999,999. As we exited a manager asked us if we enjoyed the ride. We told him it was our favourite and we'd achieved 999,999. He took us to get a sticker, but they were all out, so instead ge gave us an open FP to use on anything except 7DMT. Bonus .

For the rest of the afternoon we slowly navigated the park, rode the people mover, purchased a dole whip, watched the castle show before heading onto BTM. John lost his phone, which was retrieved by a CM and was duly returned to him after he had proven it was his.

As evening drew in we checked in for the After Desserts Party. J bought us a Starbucks to drink as we waited before the show, J Java chip and I had a caramel frap. We chatted to a little boy called Vincent and his mum. They were on a flying visit celebrating Vincent's birthday, during the day they'd visited: AK, HS and MK and fitted in a swim!

We were at the front of the viewing area and had intended to sit, but the disability viewing area was very full and everyone stood behind us, so we stood too. We finished our day munch through desserts and cheeseburger egg rolls. We loved the After Party and preferred it to the normal one. It was much quieter and we could wait for the crowd to disperse, this would be particularly handy if you we getting Disney transport, which almost everyone leaving MK needs to, be it bus, monorail or ferry. We enjoyed the second show and the kiss goodnight from our table; it was perfect.

There's nothing quite like Disney magic. They aren't quite as good at it in DLP.

It was, we definitely recommend it. There are no cocktails, but it was still joint first with Star Wars.

Thanks, they are recycled from MNSSHP last year. They are dead comfy and the material dries really quickly.

Definitely recommend this party. Great desserts with some good savoury options. Only thing missing is the cocktails

Interesting to see how the post fireworks dessert party went. We have done the pre show party with garden view. Was there a big take up for it?

Thanks, we left BoG about 15mins before park opening and we were about 3 trains back. There were people there for the early morning paid event going round and round as there was no queue. We were well before the Main Street crowds.

The after party was really quiet, there was about 7 families doing it. It had only just started last year. We sat in the garden while the early guests enjoyed desserts. We'd have been doing the same on Main Street around that time, so it didn't eat into our day. We'd definitely choose to do it again.

What a fantastic day, once again I love your outfits. We just got back a week ago and, having tried the cheeseburger egg rolls for the first time on our last day, the memory is still fresh and I really want one now!

I'm glad you enjoyed the After Dessert Party as I have booked it for DD and myself. We haven't done one before so I am really looking forward to it. Can I just ask how early you checked in for it and where? I am happy to check in early and just sit on the grass and chill. How long did you spend at the party? Did you feel rushed at all?

Sorry, a bit of an inquisition, but I like to be prepared.
