Reykjavík hotels

We’ve just booked really cheap flights for October to Iceland, somwhere ive always wanted to go! I was recommended the
Radisson Blu Saga but it’s booked out for our dates. Any recommendations as to where to stay around the same area?

No recommendations just wanted to say I’m really jealous ha ha. I was all ready to book for Feb half term and the school moved the dates and those dates are extortionate whereas the week later they were £60 return

We stayed at the Leifur Eriksson (sp?) when we went but that is over 10 years ago now. I think it was only a 2 star but it did the job and the water was lovely and warm! If I remember, the Radisson is near the harbour and our hotel was at the other end of town by the Hallgrimskirja but it's not a very big city. I would happily stay there again.

We’ve got for less than £50 each I can’t believe it! £17.99 going & £29.99 coming back! No clue about hotels though so hoping I can get something reasonable!

Thank you I’m off to google that! There seems to be another Radisson about 4km away from the other but if it’s not a big city I’m sure anywhere will be fine.

Such a bargain... I looked at Alfred’s apartments as I wanted a kitchenette so we could take pizza back and things as it’s so expensive(there are 5 of us ). Didnt look into it a great deal as I was so deflated with school hol flights
I do think though from what I read these aparts are near where the bus picks up for Tours

I had a look at those & they look great! Think apartments are the way to go as it’s coming out much cheaper & as you say we can make breakfast & bring pizza back!

We will also be in Iceland in October
We are staying on the outskirts of Reykjavík as it’s much cheaper, and we are also self catering for around half of our trip (we are driving the whole ring road around the island).

Planet Appartments was were we stopped and couldn't recommend it enough. Amazing location looking out over the harbour, underground parking and all open plan and modern inside. Will be booking there again when we go back.
Bonus supermarket a 5 min drive away too

Hotel Skuggi was amazing and a fabulous breakfast included, location was absolutely perfect as well
Always fresh lemon water to drink for free at the bar and pastries left over from breakfast put out for free.
