Solo Trip - day thirteen - MK mooching
Finished packing this morning. I wanted to swim but didn't want to pack a soggy cossie . Left Quality Street chocolates for Mousekeeping (been leaving one every day but left the remainder for the lucky person to do my room today), took my bags to bell services and decided to go to MK.
In the bus stop and on the bus sat next to an American lady who was keen to chat because she was having her first ever solo day - she's here with extended family and she said she had got sick of trying to please everyone so announced that today everyone was going to do their own thing - and she was going to MK on her own. She was a bit apprehensive but much cheered after our conversation. I looked out for her for the rest of the day but didn't see her I hope she had a great day. MK very quiet today so I got really lucky with last minute FP for Haunted House and Jungle Cruise - in fact the Jungle Cruise FP line was no longer than the standby line. Went over to Splash Mountain to see how long the wait was and it was closed temporarily - cast member said 'not long' so I went in the gift shop and as I came out they re-opened the ride so I was only 10 from the front of the line and on in a few minutes. I was on the front row this time and got absolutely soaked I'm so lucky today I thought I might get on Pirates of the Caribbean - walked over there and Captain Jack was out signing autographs doing meet and greet - have you seen him? Apart from being a lot younger than Johnny Depp he's absolutely perfect, got the mannerisms and the voice and the looks and interacts with every guest as the 'real' jack would. I stayed on the sidelines and watched him for ages. Then I went for the ride and - yes! - only a ten minute wait. Time for lunch and I'm hungry...Skipper Canteen looks interesting and got a table in a few minutes. I had a really great server, he's new there but was really friendly and chatty. The menu looked really good I had a hard time deciding what to have I had the dim sum for starter - with spicy sauce - and then steak salad. All very, very nice food. I had sencha tea to drink. Only £31, good price for in the parks I thought. I would definitely go there again as there are other things on the menu I want to try. I also rode Many Adventures of Pooh and the Carousel and then went to Space Mountain which was also only a ten minute ride but waiting in the queue I realised my back was twingeing after all the rides today so I ducked out. It's still going to be there next time I visit. Got back to my resort (it's not 'home' now ) about 6pm and sat out in the sun to await the Magical Express. I do like the late evening flight because that means I have a whole last day in the parks. Altogether one of the best and most relaxing holidays I have ever had in my life and I'm booked again - with Ellie - for next year already Thanks for reading |
