Fingers crossed! Has your ds joined the tennis team? Dd really enjoyed it last year. Although they haven't been able to play this year, he should have a look at it. They have some great socials.

Edited to add: I would be wary of Greenbank as it’s a bus ride into the city and the buses are often full on a morning meaning you have to wait for a couple to go until you can get on one.
This is were we are naive to be honest. Due to covid we have only driven by her choices of universities therefore not seen any accommodations at all apart from edgeHill as we could see them on the campus.
We thought all university accommodations were onsite. We assumed that was the main reason new students go to halls of residence because it’s onsite and easy access while they are new.
I am panicking now! It looked like York had onsite accommodations too?
Her top two choices are Liverpool & Leeds, do they not have onsite accommodation? Its all confusing on line 😬

You should be able to see maps of the Uni accommodation on the website somewhere. Leeds certainly has accommodation on and very near to campus and I would be surprised if Liverpool don’t also.

DS has applied for his accommodation at Birmingham - we spent ages looking at options and getting advice from other parents and he has put in all his choices. Fingers crossed he gets what he wants. Now we really need to government to make up their minds about how Alevels are going to work!

Leeds Uni is in the city centre. The accommodation is not all in one place on campus like Edge Hill. Depending on what type your daughter wants, and is allocated, it could be a short walk away in the city centre, or further out in the student areas of Hyde Park or Headingley. Their website should have a map showing you the location of the accommodation blocks in comparison to the uni.

He has sadly, he seems to have lost interest in tennis which is a shame as they both did their coaching badges at Wrexham so they could teach for a bit of uni money. He has joined the football team and running club. He won’t struggle with the social side - he is my outgoing one.
My daughter has joined the tennis team for both her college and the Uni. Funny enough, the captain of the Uni team was actually number 1 in Cheshire so they knew each other from tournaments and events around here.

Thats lovely, its always nice when there is someone there that they know. We probably know her too if she played for the county, is it Olivia? Most of dd's friends went to the US on scholarships but they all talk on social media. It lovely that they all still are friends as some of them she has known since she was 5 or 6.

DD didn’t even have an assessment... it was very strange. The only thing I can think of is that she’s predicted an A in A-Level law so maybe this helped 🤷🏻

I dont think they take into account predicted grades when using interviews, it depends on the university, the assessment for York wasn’t really an assessment more an incite into the way they teach and whether it would suit you.

The universities usually say on the website whether they will require an interview

My daughter is predicted an A in Law

I'll have a look on the website... we just assumed an interview would be required!
