The best time to book a Vegas hotel is three months before you check in, unless it’s when a major event is on in which case book as early as possible.
How true this is in the post COVID world I don’t know, but it worked for me many times in the past.

We stayed at the Paris which is opposite the Bellagio. Found it to be a good location at the time as it was reasonably central. Went to the top of the tower at night and the view of Las Vegas was stunning and a completely different view of the fountains.

I'll go against the grain and say that we prefer the south end of the strip and that's where we stayed for our first visit. Mandalay Bay, MGM and NYNY are all great. There is a lot of walking wherever you stay but for us that area seems a bit less manic and we love how the hotels all link to each other.
We have also stayed at the Venetian and Planet Hollywood which are more central and you can't really go wrong with either of those. To be honest, the price normally dictates where we stay, if somewhere is a bargain, we will tend to give it a go. Most Vegas hotels are beautiful. |

Venetian all the way. We also liked the Bellagio. We weren't keen on Bally's as we thought it was looking a little shabby but that was a few years ago.
As well as fabulous rooms the Venetian also has great restaurants/shops etc. |

So for my dates The Venetian is coming up at £354 on Travel Republic (for 3 nights). Is this a good price or about average?

I should be flying to Vegas today for the first time 😭 We had booked the Paris due to the location, cost and reviews.

I think that’s a bargain. For our 3 nights in April for 4 of us in 1 room is £957 on TR for the Venetian.
