Sosig!
whats the best sausages you've ever had? and can you still get them?
personally, i'm a fan of salcissiamo sosig - i got these from costco a while back, and they were really good! so when i saw these in our local italian deli, i grabbed a pack, and they are seriously one of the best sausages i've ever had! and i usually hate fennel, it has made me reconsider my life anyway, had to nip to the chemist at lunchtime, so i nipped into the deli (its over the road from it) and got these bad boys for dinner tonight... not decided what to do with them yet, im thinking a sort of bean chilli type thing using cans of stuff from the cupboard, but any other suggestions are welcome! in sosig-related news, if you're ever in the nottingham area, then a trip to beedhams butchers (aka johnny pusztai / the snobby butcher) in sherwood is an essential pilgrimage if you love your meat... they have won numerous sausage awards and always have at least 20 flavours to choose from so yeah, lets talk sausages! ugh i think sausages are a very personal thing (that sounds odd lol). Personally, those pics just make we want to run away hahaha. I really don't like a meaty chunky texture. Smooth and soft all the way here i'm afraid. Just wish you could get nicer quality smooth ones.

Richmonds for me. I hate gristly bits in sausages, whether they are proper gristle or some fancy addition, yuck. It's got to be smooth on the inside.

i didnt ask "what sausage do you normally eat" i asked whats the BEST sausage youve ever had?!
sorry, but richmond and their 15% pork/mechanically separated chicken meat sludge is not a valid answer! :p come on, you can do better than this, even if its a pure beef frank you had at a ballgame in chicago or something, i'm not accepting richmond as a valid answer from anybody in this thread! so here's how i served the chilli ones i got yesterday, they were DAMN FINE and will happily buy them again (they are £5 for 5 sosig at the deli... I don’t think I have ever had a sausage that was particularly special. A little while ago we got the mincer and sausage attachment for the kitchenaid and decided we would start making our own, more interesting sausages. Big fail, we had no luck filling the sausage skins at all, it was just a big mess. We haven’t tried again.
