Mobile Paying / Saving for Dues Monthly

For those that pay or save for dues as you go along, do you have a US bank account or do you exchange some dollars onto a currency card such as Revolut every so often? Thanks.

We have a Suntrust account and pay via monthly standing order. Originally had a Wachovia account but that was far more complex to changed to Suntrust a few years ago.

We leave one months payment in there just incase we ever forget to do the transfer one month (have come close to it!). We use either XE or Revolut to do the currently exchange then send it to the US account. Really easy, all done in seconds and a few clicks.

We just pay a chunk monthly, in advance, then when the bill comes through most of it is paid off. Pay on a foreign currency fee free credit card (Halifax, Post Office or JaJa as it’s now stupidly called).

Oh I didn’t realise I could pay monthly with my Clarity! That would be ideal.

I pay chunks off when the exchange rate is not too bad. Sadly that isn't very often!

Most Months I do circa £400 and always use the MBNA Horizon Card that was issued after they ditched the Virgin Card.

That gives foreign free transactions plus cashback.

I pay some every month with my credit card. This means in January I have covered my bill. In fact this year I have paid $500 too much so it will go towards the following year.
