New Years Day Dinner/Lunch

What are you having to eat on New Years Day? We always went for or meal because it’s my sons birthday, he’s in Canada so second year we’ve done nothing. I think we had a roast last year but has anyone got any ideas? Inspire me

We always have the same Steak pie, mashed potatoes and mushy peas in vinegar.
Apple pie and cream usually with mum and dad and my brother and his family, but not this year, but dinner the same.

Our tradition is to have a gammon joint on New Years Day.

I'm not even keen so I'd be happy to try something new - but the others love it and look forward to it.

We have Christmas crackers and all the Christmas Dinner trimmings.
It's essentially Xmas dinner all over again, usually these days (young adult sons still at home) with a couple of the family members nursing the remnants of a hangover after a NYE night out but of course not this year (unless they have a Zoom version!)
