Sending hugs by the lorry load. Our youngest was born at 23 + 4 and he’s now 21 and towers above me.
There were many, many challenges along the way but he’s athletic, drives a car, holds down a part time job and is at university. Hope things hang on but just know that anything is possible and you never give up hope. If you’d like to chat just send me a pm xx

Sending positive thoughts your way x
As a midwife it is something I see frequently. I cant give any specific advice as I am not caring for you, but will share that I have cared for many women who's waters break early on and we keep them going for several weeks. Sometimes we even end up inducing them at term as their LO's are very comfortable! But equally, I care for lots who do go on to labour in the first few days. But put your faith in your carers, they will be keeping a check and will not hesitate to jump in if there are any signs of action. In the meantime make sure you have had the chance to visit the SCBU and had a chat with a member of their team who will prep you with tons of information about what to expect if LO comes early. They will also have lots of books for you to read in preparation as the road ahead can sometimes be bumpy. I really hope all goes well for you xxx Edited at 10:16 PM. |

My daughter was born nearly 17 years ago at 31 weeks. My waters broke on the Friday evening, I had the steroids that night and on the Saturday morning then she came into the world on the Monday weighing 2lb 14. She spent 4 weeks to the day in SCBU, she was so tiny even the day we brought her home she was only 4lb 6. She’s now a stroppy teenager with no health problems whatsoever!
You must feel incredibly scared right now, I know I did but the steroids will massively help your little one. Take care of yourself xx |
