When I was 15 I was using the pill to control my periods so that I had none at all. This was more due to the endometriosis I’ve always had but it definitely helped in lots of ways and this was one.

I've used it for several holidays with no issues at all.

One thing a friend told me was to alter the periods before your holiday so if you have any symptoms / side effects they're while you are at home. So if she's regular, alter the one or 2 before so she's on just before you go away so clear on your holiday.

I've done this with no problems.

I think they are great too but can't imagine a teenager who doesn't even like talking about her periods using one and cleaning it.

These are great for smaller girls. It is also worth getting some KY Jelly to make it much easier for them.

My DD used it last summer, then 16, it worked fine all holiday and just meant we didn’t have to worry as her periods were irregular.

The first doctor we asked wouldn’t prescribe due to risk of clotting but another didn’t think it would be an issue and happily gave us prescription just for the holiday

I've used it before with no problems. I think you shouldn't use it for someone so young without a GP prescription. You may not need an appt for her - ring the surgery and explain the situation to the receptionist. A GP or nurse practitioner may just ring you back with yes, the prescription is ready or no, we don't recommend it.
