No driving, no Dd, no Disney, no worries. January 2020

Now we are paid off (well the flights and hotel) I thought I would start a pre trip report.
We are myself, Julie and Matt

It’s a belated 40th celebration for Matt. His birthday is in July but it’s also Dds 18th 3 days before him so she has stole his thunder this year. We don’t want to visit in the summer and are dropping Dd off at uni in Sept and want to make sure she’s settled so that’s why we decided on January 2020.
We fly from Gatwick on 10th with BA and travel home 20th.

Original plan
We are staying at The Enclave Suites with one night at RPR.
We want a break from driving so no hire car, it will be Uber/I Trolley/walking.
We are getting to Gatwick by National Express, did look at the train but don’t fancy the underground with big cases.
This may be some people’s idea of hell but its perfect for me. Plus it was £41 return for both of us, it would be double that just for petrol.
We are staying at Travelodge Central 9th, £28 for the night. We will get a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel and back again in the morning.
Not doing Disney parks but have a monorail pub crawl (thanks to a stace&tink trip report) and Disney Springs/Boardwalk planned.
We are looking at 2 day
2 park non hopper Universal tickets
I’m waiting for an Expedia deal for Seaworld tickets that will be valid for our dates.

Actual Plan (updated 2 weeks before travel)
Deciding on tickets has been the biggest headache about this holiday and we have changed our minds so many times.
Finally I went for unlimited 2 week Universal tickets instead of day tickets. Mainly because ATD had a deal with free volcano bay entry (later I found out other company’s offered the same but I had put a deposit on by then) plus we don’t have to spend whole days in the park.
Because of this we have cancelled RPR, another hard decision but hopefully it won’t be too busy and will ride single rider if we need to.
Seaworld tickets went from unlimited to 2 day Aquatica and Seaworld and ended up one day with all day dine which was free with Expedia plus 25% off. This was also because of Volcano bay included and not having to cram in parks every day.
We are pretty much set to go, everything is paid and I am printing everything off next week.
We have done API but are waiting for free check in 24 hours before.
