US/IOA - do we need to book to eat?
We go in 3 weeks and have a few Disney ADR's booked (I don't know what im eating tonight ... but thanks to Disney's bonkers methods I know exactly where and what I will be eating on Sunday 5th November at 10am! )
We have 2 days at US/IOA with 1 night at RPR and wanted to eat somewhere ... but don't know where yet ... possibly Hard Rock, Possibly Toothsome ... Maragritaville! Do we need to get organised and book or can we roll up on the day ... happy to wait for a bit and relax with a couple of beers !? |

No probably not. I don’t think you can book Toothsome. We ate there in September and waited 5 mins although we do tend to eat on the early side. We’ve also eaten at Margaritaville and Bubba Gumps without booking.

I don't think you'll need to prebook at universal. I know if you wanted you can make a reservation at the hard rock though. We ate at toothsome in july and were really disappointed! Shakes look well better than they taste. We ate there around 7pm and had to wait about 15/20 mins for a table

Of the three you mentioned I don't think you can pre book any of them. We ate at two in May. Toothsome was about an hour wait. It was a nice meal. Hard Rock we had no wait as everyone was next door in Toothsome

We got in everywhere we tried at City Walk without a long wait. Toothsome seemed to have a longish wait for table service, but we just popped into the cafe bit at the front for some milkshakes and we sat right down and ordered at a counter.

Yeah, you don't usually need to book on Citywalk. And I'm a massive planner.
We had to wait 20 minutes for a table at Cowfish. We struggled to get in at Margaritaville on a Saturday night (40 minute wait), but were seated straightaway at NBC Grill. The restaurants are all pretty huge so there's never usually a problem, and as you mentioned, there are loads of nice places to have a drink while you wait. Lone Palms is a particular favourite of ours. |
