My first question is -
Is it actually worth it ? The reason I ask is that one of the main perks (albeit never did it) was to be able to walk into a more or less empty MK prior to your dining time and see it in all it's glory. Now that rope drop kind of occurs in or around The Hub and gates open at 8.00am, do you lose some of this magic ? - This benefit may be lost, but I wouldn't let that put me off. What is The Crystal Palace like ? None of us are great Winnie the Pooh fans, but like the idea of dining inside the MK and of course some character interaction. - We love this buffet breakfast experience, my DW and DD are both very picky eaters but they both love it here. The venue is just wonderful you need to experience it to fully appreciate it. Is it a waste of two hours ? I'm guessing the dining experience could last up to two hours, so say you have a booking for 8am, but don't finish until 10.00am - MK will have filled up by then, so you have kind of lost the benefit of getting there early. - When we eat here that's us for the day, we then spend the rest of the day just wandering around the park watching the parades, people watching this year DD wants to do the sorcerers game, we have a few FP's booked but this year which is our 2nd we will just walk around and enjoy the park rather than the rides. |

From a value point of view then I would say no - it isn't worth it. But what Disney dining experience is ever worth the money. I for one would never pay over £100 for breakfast for the family in the UK - but somehow we tend to justify it when on holiday, for food that is of a lesser quality than I would expect anywhere local to me.
The main reason anyone would do this would be for the character interaction, but as you have said you are not Pooh fans then I am struggling to be able to convince you it would be a good idea. One thing you don't need to worry about is it being a 2 hour experience. You can rest assured the servers will want you out at around the 45 minute mark to free up their table for another tip. The last time we ate there - and the main reason it was the last time - our server was clearing plates away and bringing the cheque just after half an hour, and before the characters had made it to us. She wanted her table back and didn't care if that made us feel uncomfortable. |
