New to Disney and booking reservations
Hey,
Just wondered if someone could give me some advice as I am completely new to Disney holidays and we have just booked our first one with our 3 & 5 year old. We are arriving next October 15th 2019, we are staying at port Orleans riverside and have upgraded to the Disney dining plan. I want to check iv understood the reservation system, so to work out your 180 day mark is day one your arrival day and you count back to 180 and that is the day you can make the reservations? Also we would like to do one character breakfast however we won’t have a car so will be relying on the Disney transport, I like the look of tusker house at animal kingdom, what time would you suggest making a reservation to ensure we won’t miss it using the Disney busses? Thank you! Edited at 01:02 PM. |

Hello and Welcome
Anybody can make reservations at 180 days out. However on-site guests can take advantage of what's known as 180+10. What this means is that at check-in day - 180, you can reserve up to 10 days at a time. So for you, checking in on 15/10/19, on the 18/04/19 you can book your first 10 days at one go. The buses will be running in plenty of time for you to get to an early breakfast, so I wouldn't worry about that. As for character meals we like: Chef Mickeys Tusker House Cape Cafe may breakfast O'Hana's breakfast But there's load of others. Really probably best to decide based on the characters you want to see.

Hello. Welcome to the Dibb!
There is a wealth of useful information on here to help you out. If you look over to the right you will see in the Dibb Menu section halfway down a link called ADR calculator. Enter your arrival date in there and you can see when the 180 day booking window opens. Very handy as you don't want to be late booking! So the 18th April 19 for you. We don't eat breakfast so I will leave that to others to answer. But buses could be a right pain and I would opt for an Uber or the Disney Minnie Cabs. Money well spent to save the hassle and stress of maybe being late. By the way POR is a lovely Resort. Plenty to do but not too manic either.

Welcome DITTO everything Mr. Tom said, we as just 2 adults love using the WDW bus transport but we have no children to get up and feed before the off so for you what Mr. Tom says would be a good idea. Your children would LOVE Tuskers in Animal Kingdom, as its a buffet they can pick and choose and the character interaction is really good the children will be amazed so make sure you have your camera/phone ready as soon as Micky, Minnie etc. appear. POR is a lovely hotel and if you do on-line check-in and a corner room is offered take one as they are a bit larger and have two windows as opposed to one so a bit more light coming in.
