Renewing/upgrading Universal Annual Pass

I have a seasonal annual pass that is due for renewal, i know I can do this online and get a 20% discount and 3 months extra free. But can I upgrade to the preferred annual pass (at the renewal date) and still get the 20% discount and I believe an extra 6 months free or would I have to pay the renewal price for the seasonal pass and then pay the upgrade for the preferred when i first use it at the park?
