IMO it's because it's so busy here at the moment unless you have fast passes you will be lucky get on many rides especially as splash mountain is down... so extending the hour people can arrive early or later in the day with fast passes and then go...

Oh god is it really that busy? I know October crowds have noticeably increased the last couple of years but we went in August last year and were hoping it wouldn't be as busy in October (which no longer seems to be the case)!

I've been saying it for awhile, but October is the new July. Give it a couple years and if the trend continues, I predict they'll actually have to run promotions to get the summer crowds back in.

Have a great trip though MrsMoney!

Lol don’t worry, not a lot could put me off Disney - We’ll just have to make sure we’re utilising our fast passes

We went first couple of weeks of Nov last year and I was amazed at how busy it was.

Had to go last couple of weeks of August in 2014 due to other family members coming with us - I was dreading the heat and crowds. It was hot and busy but wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Indeed we recently got back from our early October trip and I reckon it felt just as hot, with perhaps the sun not being quite as fierce. We didn't do Disney on this last trip at all, but SeaWorld and Busch were pretty quiet.
