Mobile Working out the cost of tips

Hi, we are a family of three adults and I’m trying to work out how much to save for tips. I haven’t had ddp before, only qsdp. I’ll have the $200 gift card which I’ll keep for tips but I was wondering if anybody had kept a record of how much they’d paid for tips over the 2 weeks on ddp. I realise this will differ depending on what was ordered but it will help with how much I need to save! Thanks

Hi
We are 2 adults so our meals are a bit less however most TS meals for us round 60 to 70 dollers without drink so they recommend either 15% or 18% so on advange tips were about 10 dollers the only thing was if you add a couple of drinks into it that can push up the required tip, so we stopped at just one with the meal.
Hope this helps a bit but best to check out a few menus then you can price up
Also starters and sides are not in the meal plan so will also be on top but we found the meals to be big enough and couldn't even manage desert so had that to go most of the time

I budget 20 per meal so 280 for the two weeks. It works our about right, 2 adults and 2 kids.
I always just pay the required 18% tip.

We do the same, normally averages about $20 per meal for 4 people, some are higher some are lower. We put our tips on our room so we can use the gift card towards paying them off.

I’ll probably put aside an extra $200 to be on the safe side. Thanks!

If you are on the DDP have you chosen your ADRs yet? From that you can work out how much the tips will be.
I worked out about $200 and the gift card would cover it, it was about $205 at Disney. 3 adults 1 child 12 nights, gave 20% (it recommends 18 or 20) but 2 meals were HDD and CRT with tips included but also Brunch at the top which the tip was around $60! All Disney TS meals are expensive!

I take the dearest thing on the menu and work out 20%. That usually over estimates.

If you work out that each TS credit is worth $40 in monetary terms, you won't be far off so 3x40 at 18% $21.60 at 20% $24.00 = $302.40/$336
In all likelihood you won't spend the full $40 at each sitting, you are basically taking the most expensive item on the menu to do this.

Yes as others have said, it sort of depends if you plan on having alcohol with the meal as this will bump up the price. We tend to have a bottle of wine which at wdw costs about $40. So this alone is another $8 to tip. Most of our meals were around $150 so at 20% it's $30. But that is for 4, 2 adults and 2 children.
