WDW Date Based Ticket Pricing
Just read that they are now using date based pricing for tickets starting from 16th October this year
Says guests will be offered an option to upgrade with a flexible 'start' date for an added cost... Trying to evenly distribute the crowds throughout the year as it's too crowded apparently disneyfoodblog/2018/0...icket-pricing/ wdwnt/2018/09/rumor-new-...-october-16th/ edited: add links Edited at 05:45 PM. |

I saw this as well, the article says that there will probably be another ticket price rise on this date as well

The question is now - do I buy my 21 day ticket now before the changes happen or wait it out?

i wonder if this will affect the ultimate tickets, like the delay of resort parking charge for uk guests.

This only affects US tickets at the moment. There's nothing about the effect on UK tickets (if any). And obviously it doesn't affect tickets that have already been bought.
As for price rises, I suspect it'll be the same as when they introduced seasonal pricing for 1 day tickets. The price will depend on when you select to visit - it might be cheaper than it currently is if you are going during off-peak times and be more expensive if you are going during peak times or want the 'flexible' option. My problem is that it makes it all more confusing to the customer. The American tickets are already confusing enough - you have to choose the number of days, whether you want park hopping and whether you want access to the waterparks. Now you'll have to choose the start date, the length of time you want, and whether the ticket is flexible or not as well. Plus, it'll be difficult for someone like me to tell people how much a 4 day ticket (for example) is because it'll very much depend on when they are planning on visiting. It becomes more difficult to advise people what the best option is.

Its more aimed at the US MYW tickets rather than the UK Ultimate tickets.
Not really a shock as this has been talked about for some months on other Disney forums, just that no one knew exactly when it was going to start. Edited at 05:58 PM. |

I don't think it does and it does goes against what WDW said to me last week when I rang up looking to change our 14d to 21d tickets
He said I 'may' want to wait to upgrade 2nd week of December as it 'may' be a lot cheaper for me - read on here they've done that the last couple of years too |
