We bothered to do the EMH for the first time in Aug last year at MK. We thought we would be able to get on all the 'big' rides with ease. But no, they cordon off the park and we were only allowed in FantasyLand untill 9 o'clock. Waste of time as it was rammed and the Mine Train still had an hours queue. (Glad we had FP for later on).

EMH is a perk for onsite guests. During EMH, only onsite guests will be on the rides therefore meaning queues will be shorter than during the regular hours. Thus, onsite guests should try and use it if they can.
Because EMH attracts onsite guests to that particular park, it is usually recommended that offsite guests go to a different park. As mentioned above, only some of the park and attractions are open during EMH. But it does mean you can get on these rides with little to no wait (eg. Everest, Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur all had no wait during morning EMH so we could've ridden them as much as we wanted during the hour).

Is there a way of finding out what rides are open during EMH?

We make use of the morning emh but leave late morning to go to another park for the afternoon, or even back to the hotel for some pool time then to a second park for the evening. We make our fast passes for the second park we are going to as have always been able to get so much done during those morning hours before the crowds build up.

Only avoid a park with EMH if you're an offsite guest (i.e. not staying in a Disney hotel).
For onsite guests, it's well worth getting to morning EMH. During EMH, the park will be a lot less busy - many rides will be walk-ons.

We used to avoid EMH when we stayed in a villa but since since we have been staying onsite we use them almost daily. Only the morning ones though. We book FP+ for 10,11,12 then eat lunch I. The park and head back to resort for a chill out and swim. We go to DTD or a park in the evening.

MK - worth it
the rest no unless you don't use and FP+ on your first location and even so no to be honest. Epcot have 2 main attractions - and by the time you get to the second one you will be waiting pretty much same time as none EMH HS during first hour we managed to do TSM and RR coaster on EMH day. On normal day we managed to get TSM, RnR coaster and ToT for the first hour. 1 hours after opening they were all crazy busy AK is very easily toured park even without FP+ and it's nicer to walk around when it's quiet. |
