I always use my driving licence and have a photo of passport ready just in case they ask, which 90% of the time they seem to.

I was lucky at new year in Epcot the server took pity and served my anyway when I could not find the photo.

Did she present a copy of passport at the same time? If not, that’s the reason for decline, not just the DL

My husband doesn’t have a photo drivers licence and is 54 years old, really don’t want to carry a passport wherever we go 🥴

BUT some places not disney operated such as the margarita bar at disney springs will not accept the paper or digital copy of passport
The server in the Margarita Bar in Disney Springs told my daughter last month that they were one of only 2 bars in Disney Springs that won't accept a drivers licence. He said a photocopy of her passport would have been ok though. She had no problems with just her driving licence everywhere else.

Got back yesterday and as others have said, take your DL and take a picture of your passport on your phone. The only time I didn’t get asked for the photo of my passport was at Yak & Yeti, where they just accepted the DL and said it was “fine”. I wouldn’t risk not having both as everywhere else I went needed it

What forms of ID do I need to carry on me when I want to have a drink?

I wouldnt really feel safe carrying my actual passports/and/or/driving license round with me just in case.

What do people do?
In my many visits to the US I have never had anything stolen from my person but have had stuff stolen from a hotel safe once and suspect someone tried to access it another time.

I carry my driving licence with me everywhere home and abroad having ID on you is something that can on occasions make things easier.
