How do you know it's a scam

I just happened to be on here this morning and saw a post about someones daughter being in the theatre. , there were 2 posts saying it was spam / scam .
How do you know ?
I did notice the spelling was wrong but that's just me I can spot that a mile off.
What gave it away?
I'm just curious as I'm a bit naive when it comes to stuff like this. I obviously dont give out bank details and passwords to anyone, as I'm very cautious ,and usually I dont do any like comment and share to win a holiday in the maldives type stuff ... they maybe genuine but how do you know ?

I wouldn’t know if something posted on here was a scam. I also wouldn’t notice spelling mistakes due to my dyslexia 🙈 more likely to make spelling mistakes 😬😬
To be honest I believe everything everyone tells me, so I definitely wouldn’t spot a scam. Also, I just don’t understand why someone would make a fake post 🤷 What does it achieve if its not a money scam?

It is difficult to pick up sometimes and this being a forum where people are usually kind and empathetic they like to be able to help.
Many trolls across sites usually have an MO which is asking for urgent help and some points are very descriptive
New posters posting dramatic scenarios can be a give away
Spelling
Posting very early in the morning can raise questions even though some on here do work late/ early hours
Sadly this happens across all forums and this one is far more empathetic that some!
Report them to the mods if you are uncomfortable or worried they can then look into it, do not rise to trolls that is what they feed off.

Spelling is rarely a give away albeit it can be. I type up a reply on here but then invariably correct my spelling later on.

Hence nearly all my posts have 'Edited' at the bottom as the time has changed when I do it.

I think it was more a spoof rather than a 'scam' as they were not asking for anything other then comments/views, more a throw a grenade in the room and sit back to watch the fireworks - some people are just odd like that.

Any new member that generally starts with - I am being cruel/mean etc and gives a 'story' about a young daughter/son in a 'situation' I tend to avoid commenting on.

Or any new member that sounds to cheesey and over the top about going to Florida, and also they use the same wording

I do edit mine when I notice I have made a mistake 👍🏻 Sometimes they don’t make any sense 🙈🙈
I didn’t know you could see that some one has edited, people must wonder why I am always doing it 😬🤣😬
