Southampton parking & hotel

Hi,
Leaving this all a bit late..

I’m looking for a nice hotel with a pool & parking for the day before our cruise - Novotel is looking like the only one near the Horizon Cruise terminal .. it has some really poor reviews for cleanliness so I’m interested to hear view from dibbers who’ve stayed here over the last few months please?

Which is the best nearest parking for the cruise nights please? I know I read a thread on it but I can’t find it today.

We use AB parking right outside the terminal. We used the holiday inn and while the location was great we weren’t impressed. My bil said he preferred the Novotel of the two.

The official port parking is great. You pull up outside the terminal, unload your bags, hand your keys over to them and start your holiday. When you get back, the car is usually opposite the ship so you can be on the road within minutes of disembarking.

You can park cheaper but this is just so much less hassle for the sake of saving a few quid.

Depending on which cruise line you are going on, CPS (Cruise and Passenger Services) is the official valet parking at the port. They serve Cunard, P&O and Princess. They are not the cheapest but very efficient and convenient. The port parking service for other cruise lines is AB Parking, who offer both valet and park and shuttle services.
A cheaper option at the port is Triangle Parking which is a ‘keep your key’ parking lot at the port very close to Ocean Terminal. If you leave or arrive from a different terminal you ring for a taxi transfer (included in the price). This option is available for all cruise lines.
There are several options for off site parking that involve a shuttle bus transfer.

For the Disney cruise I would recommend the AB parking. So handy as you can leave your cases right at the car, and it’s self park and keep your own keys. It’s a very short walk to the ship.

We did use triangle for our po cruise. That is near the other terminal. Great for PO but not for Disney.

Hotels - we stayed at the Village. We got a good deal but the rooms have glass bathroom doors. I wasn’t keen on that particular feature.

AB parking do not take your keys, you park yourself and take the bags out of the car and a Porter takes them for you and you just head into the terminal. We literally parked next to the Anthem of the seas last week and were straight into the terminal building then straight out and into the car when we disembarked.

AB Parking does offer a meet and greet service (valet style) for some cruises, where they keep your keys.
“For all Meet and Greet car parking, passenger car keys are retained securely by ABParking throughout the duration of the cruise - on returning to the port an ABParking representative will be available on the ships arrival to return the vehicle keys to the driver”

Aah ok, we have always parked so close to the ship it seemed unlikely!
