Genie+ - only 1 ride per attraction per day
Not sure if this has been posted already, but I've just read that if you purchase Genie+, you will only be able to use it to ride an attraction once per day, even if there are available slots for it later in the day. If you want to ride the same attraction again, you'll need to join the standby queue. With the old FP system, you could potentially grab extra passes for the same ride, but it seems like the days of that are over, even though you now have to pay.

1 a day will help those that arrive later I guess but overall this is a terrible system compared to fast pass plus

Im a bit confused by this new Genie thing! What I thought was you can pay $15 pp per day and book one lightening lane at a time so once you have done that can book another but then some high profile rides you need to pay per ride.
Is this not the case so pay $15 to have ONE lightening lane? |

I actually think this system will work for us but not in the way Disney expect.
The standby queue will go down much quicker as I think more people will be less willing to pay these extortionate amounts so more people at one time will be loaded onto the rides rather than the stop/ start from the fastpass line. |

Just to clear you can always ride again it the standby line. Not ideal but you can do that.

This might make us more likely to park hop, especially to Epcot. I wouldn’t pay for Genie + for Epcot but I might try and bag a LL for Soarin’ in the evening for example. Although it’s not ideal that you can’t do the same ride twice.

Park hopping is the best way to get bang for buck. Jumping to Epcot is a great idea test track and soarin getting done means zero need to buy the genie in Epcot.
If i was on site and paid for this rancid thing i would be using as much as possible. Indeed if you where to pay up i see no reason Disney cant be done in a week with ease, Thats some glorious savings over a 2 week stay. More money to then go to universal and DC... |

I think this is fine at MK since there's a lot of attractions, and maybe HS as it has several of the big rides now. But Epcot and AK really only have 2 Genie+ attractions that need FP. So you're basically paying IAS prices for them if they're capping to 1 pass per attraction. I think their sales in those two parks will struggle.
