Am I right in thinking that there is still a home office travel warning in place for Dubai so we couldn't be able to travel anyway as insurance would be invalid?

That’s what Axa told me regarding my insurance.

Hoping that they secure one of these travel corridors with the UAE and add them to our exemption list to prevent the mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

We've lost our Dom Rep holiday and booked Dubai for next May. Always need something to look forward to.

Hoping to go on a trip to the Omani Fjords. It looks amazing! And another country ticked off of my bucket list !

They are also desperate fpto reopen soon. Just talking to my friend who is a manager in one of the main hotels and they are really struggling. He said that staff not been paid for a couple of months, they are having to move out of their homes and there is no help available . Very worrying times

Anyone know why the UAE is still on the FCO advisory list when their cases and deaths are low?

Because the list bears no relation to the stats 🤷

Ive been wondering the exact same! More and more UAE hotels opening up as well.

We always expected this to be a last minute booking job for a weeks trip in October but we also need Dubai to drop the mandatory tests for arrivals... selfishly speaking of course 😁

The mind boggles with the FCO advise, the methodology for deciding which countries are deemed ‘safe’ is rather opaque!

We’ve booked to go in February staying at Lapita. I’m hoping (though being realistic) that we can travel. There’s a list of approved test centres for the Covid tests that would give a certificate but this will be an added expense for the 4 of us. I really hope they’ve dropped that requirement by then.
