Hampton Lakes - decent place to be based?

We've stayed on Hampton Lakes 4 times, as well as other communities on the US27. We like the area, and don't mind the drive to Disney/Universal. I know that other people prefer villa communities closer to the parks. Berry Town Center has a nice Publix, an IHOP, Applebees, a pizza place and a Chinese takeaway - less than a 5 minute drive away. There's a big Walmart at Cagan Crossings about 10 minutes away and lots popping up the other direction down at Posner Park.

Thanks for all the replies. Good to be reassured. Booking somewhere different always gives me doubts.
